Quia


Quia is a web-based program where you can create online tests and activities. The Video Tutorial below demonstrates to you how to use Quia. Also check out the Shared Activities page as there are a lot of activities that you are able to already use. Remember that you can tweak these activities so if you like the activity you can always change the content of it. Just make sure you copy it over into your account.








License Information


This section is for those who do not have a Quia Account or have a Trial version/Paid for Quia themselves

LMHS has a site license so please create an account through the school


If you don't have a Quia account
  • Create a new account at http://www.quia.com/newuser.html.
  • This will take you to the Instructor Zone. Enter LMSD434 in the activation key field near the top of the page and press GO.
  • Your account is now active.

If you created a TRIAL Quia account or paid for Quia yourself
  • Log into Quia Web at http://www.quia.com/web.
  • This will take you to the Instructor Zone. Enter the school's activation key (get from your building Tech Specialist) near the top of the page and press GO.
  • OR, if you are currently subscribed, go to the Preferences tab. Scroll down to the Subscription Information section and click on the link to enter a different activation key.
  • Your account is now active.



This section is to begin setting up students into your roster so that they can use the same account for all classes.



Class Roster Instructions

  • Sign into Quia at http://www.quia.com/web
  • Click "Roster" under "Classes"
  • Type the last name or student ID of each student.
  • As you type in the students' names and ID numbers, Quia will search your organizations master student list for matches and auto-fill the remaining information.
  • Once you are done, you can view and/or change your students' passwords by clicking on the "P" next to their usernames.


How do students log in?
  • Sign into Quia at http://www.quia.com/web/studentZoneBegin.html
  • Username for all students is as follows: first name + last name + 871 (ex: bethhampton871) - attached spreadsheet has all student’s usernames
  • Password for all students is their network password – I deleted this column from the spreadsheet because not all student’s handed in an acceptable user policy.
  • When students log in, they will see “Welcome and their name”. It will list all classes where teachers have enrolled them in.
